Is My Resume ATS Friendly?

Here's the honest answer: nobody outside the company can tell you what their ATS does with your resume (or CV, if you're in the UK or Ireland). What I can tell you is the first thing every one of them does, because our scanner does it too: it tries to pull the plain text out of your file. If your resume is a PDF exported from a design template, there's a good chance it's a picture. Looks great, contains no words. Our scanner refuses those on the spot and tells you why; an ATS just files you under "no match" and never tells anyone.
Quick test before you upload anything anywhere: open the PDF, try to select a line with your mouse. If you can't, that's your answer.
If you can, the second question is whether the words a recruiter searches for are actually in there. A student applying for their first internship loses just as much to this as anyone: the free scan reads your resume the way a parser does and names the keyword your target role expects that isn't on the page.
